Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to remote MCP servers through custom connectors. This is configured in the ChatGPT UI rather than a config file, and availability depends on your plan and whether connectors/developer mode are enabled.
How do I connect an MCP server to ChatGPT?
Open ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors, choose “Add custom connector”, and paste your MCP server URL — the whole setup lives in the ChatGPT UI, not a config file. Custom remote MCP connectors require a qualifying plan with connectors/developer mode enabled.
Setup
- Open ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors (enable developer mode if prompted).
- Choose “Add custom connector” and paste your deployment URL as the MCP server URL.
- Name the connector and complete any authentication the server requires.
